Projects and works

What the charity looks like

Every work of the Delegation, in one place: the school we are building now, the two projects the Delegation carries directly, and the works already running — grouped by what they are. Charity here has an address, a roof and a payroll.

Not yet open · being built now

The project we are building today

One work is an open building site right now. It is not finished, and it is not funded to the end. We would rather say so plainly, and look for friends willing to build with a project rather than after it.

Under construction

A new school at Nyadorera — St. Rose of Lima

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Nyadorera · Siaya County

St. Rose of Lima Academy began in 2013 under a tree, with 45 children. It has 308 today, in buildings that were never meant to hold them.

Siaya is one of the poorest territories the Delegation serves. The new school is the answer: proper classrooms, sanitation, water, and room for the children who are turned away. The site is open and the work has started — it is being built in stages, as the money arrives.

Total cost of the project: KSh 110 million. We are raising it now, and every stage of the work is open to a partner who wants to take one.

Carried directly by the Delegation

Our two major projects

Two works do not belong to any one parish: they are run by the Delegation itself, and each of them holds several activities under one roof.

The Sholinke Community Resource Centre, Kajiado East

Delegation Project

Sholinke Community Resource Centre

Olosirikon, Kajiado East · Kajiado County

Begun as a hospital and rebuilt as something broader, because the community was asking several questions at once. Today it holds a healthcare centre, a hall for a hundred people, a poultry farm, an ICT centre and the Orione Riders Garage — under one rule kept in writing: provide what the community needs.

Delegation Project

Isineti Project

Kimana, Loitokitok · Kajiado County

Around thirty Maasai women at the centre of it: free access to clean water, training in kitchen gardens and water management, and formation in the ordinary skills that turn a good harvest into a better life. The first building was completed in May 2026.

Already running

The works in operation

These works are already open, already staffed, already serving. Most of them live inside a parish and are run by the community that serves that place — which is why each card leads to the page of the community that hosts it.

Schools for children with disabilities

Two Orione Community Training Centres, for children and young people living with cerebral palsy, autism and intellectual disabilities. Not care alone: education, rehabilitation and a trade at the end of it.

Disability

Orione Centre, Kandisi

Holy Spirit Parish, Kandisi · Ongata Rongai

More than sixty children and young people every day, from 3 to 34 years old. Education with an individual plan for each, rehabilitation, and a four-acre farm where students over sixteen train and are then employed — with a contract and a bank account of their own.

Disability

Orione Centre, Kaburugi

St. Peter’s Parish, Kaburugi · Murang’a

The first Orione Centre in Kenya, opened in 2005 after the fathers found forty families hiding children with disabilities. Forty to sixty children today: education, physiotherapy, a multisensory room, feeding, and training in horticulture and hairdressing.

Dispensaries

Three places where a person can be seen by a nurse without a long journey and without a bill they cannot pay.

Dispensary

Orione Mission Afya Care Centre

St. Luigi Orione Parish, Gaitu · Meru

Opened on 5 July 2025: the first health apostolate of the Congregation in Kenya. General consultation, minor surgery, maternal and child health, antenatal and postnatal care.

Dispensary

St. Orione Dispensary, Kandisi

Inside the Orione Centre, Kandisi · Ongata Rongai

Opened for the Centre’s tenth anniversary, and the only one of the three that is not a work of its own. General consultation, minor surgery, maternal and child health, and a Child Welfare Clinic — for the children of the Centre and for the families around it.

Schools

Ordinary schools, run by the parish that stands beside them. The parish priest is answerable for the roof, the teachers and the results.

School

St. Rose of Lima Academy

St. Elizabeth of Hungary Parish, Nyadorera · Siaya

Founded in 2013 under a tree, with 45 students and three teachers. It now counts 308 students — and a new school is being built for them.

School

Kandisi Nursery School

Holy Spirit Parish, Kandisi · Ongata Rongai

About fifty children, roughly three quarters of them orphans living with their grandmothers. Two more nursery schools are run by the parish of Kaburugi.

And alongside them

Two more nursery schools at Kaburugi. The farm at Nyadorera, which works Congregation land, employs local people and supplies the markets. And the Alma and Saruni outreach projects, feeding more than 400 vulnerable Maasai children and bringing children back to school from herding.

Two things are asked of every work on this page. First, that it serve the people around it — not an idea of those people, but the actual ones, with the needs they actually name. Second, that it learn to stand on its own feet: income-generating works at the service of charity, so that charity does not depend forever on the next donation.

The rule behind all of them

“Water is life, work and dignity.”
